A significant position of agriculture is also embedded in its role as provider of employment of rural labour forces. About 74.50 percent of the total population of the country live in rural areas and are directly or indirectly engaged in a wide range of agricultural activities. About 47.30 percent of the labour forces are employed in agriculture (Biological and Environmental Research, 2017). High population growth with declining death rate together with low growth in agricultural productivity adversely affects the living standard in the country.
