The Car penter, the Bricklayer, the Mason and the Decorator all desire to know more of the art of architecture than can be acquired on the building or in the workshop; and this book is put together in order to give them an Op portunity of getting that information and I am in clined to think that what is offered herewith, While not by any means a complete or comprehensive work on architecture, if thoroughly studied, will convey to the student a sufficient knowledge that will enable him to grasp the main points in architecture and styles, to such an extent, that he will be able at least, to talk intelligently on the subject.
