Publisher's Synopsis
A New Way to Mark and A New Way to Sew!
The point of these star patterns is that they are super easy and fast. A humble star shape long overlooked sparkles in 13 quilts that are made from 12 patterns.
Self-Piecing skips the paper and starts with 5" squares of fabric that are part of the finished quilt. The squares are easily marked without tracing. Then, broken chain piecing is used to sew the squares to strips of fabric. Cutting is limited to squares, strips, and trimming the square after all the pieces are sewn. There is no frustration of odd shapes. It's an easy variation of foundation piecing with no paper to remove.
