Publisher's Synopsis
This volume contains papers given at a workshop on the earth's core boundary and geodynamos held at Liblice Castle, Czechoslovakia in 1988.;Participants in the workshop were invited to submit papers to these proceedings. The abstracts of the remaining talks given at the workshop are included at the end of this volume. Speakers were given the opportunity to write an extended abstract, otherwise the abstracts have been reproduced from those distributed at the workshop. The papers have been refereed in the usual way.;The workshop was organized as a contribution to SEDI (Studies of the Earth's Deep Interior - now a committee of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics). Most of the conributions are concerned with various aspects of dynamo theory. Some are of general theoretical interest even though they may not have direct application to the earth, but the majority of the papers are motivated by the problem of the generation and evolution of the earth's magnetic field.
