Publisher's Synopsis
These proceedings are comprised of technical papers, reports, remarks, and discussions presented at the Specialty Conference on Earthmoving and Heavy Equipment in Tempe, Arizona, on February 5, 6, and 7, 1986. The conference was sponsored by the Committee on Construction Equipment and Techniques of the Construction Division of the American Society's of Civil Engineers. The objective of the conference was to foster an exchange of ideas concerning economical field utilization of earthmoving and heavy equipment. Both machine productivity and costs were examined. The following areas are covered: Compaction; crushing, conveyors, and recycling; project finance; excavation equipment; scrapers; equipment finance; and computer applications. An overview of developments in the construction industry is also presented.
