My inspiration for writing this first book was when my Dad passed away in 2009. He taught me that love, humor, kindness and perseverance will always prevail if I just believed. And so, I did. We all will face many challenges in this life, it is how we react that will drive our future, despite what others may say.In this book Earth To Larry, Big Dude, Larry's dad, explains to Larry that lobsters have been around for a long time and they have seen a lot of stuff. Lobsters were once everywhere UNTIL someone decided that they were delicious. Up until then, lobsters were considered low class and used for cat food. INSULTING!Big Dude is captured by a trap (one of many that Larry will face in this series) as Larry looks on in tears. Larry remembers what his Dad taught him and decides to have the courage to dream big.Later in the story, a lobster trap drops to the sea floor baited with delicious crab. Hungry as always, Larry is tempted and crawls toward the danger. Pearl the oyster saves him with her "pearls of wisdom."Larry and Pearl become very unlikely best friends. The only thing they have in common is salty water. They decide to go see the world together. Larry's impulsive behavior gets him into hot water. Pearl's ability to clam up or hide gets him out of it.
