Publisher's Synopsis
'Everyone Is Different' is the story of two flowers who become friends despite looking quite different from one another. Puja, a pink flower with broad leaves grows up with similar flowers in a beautiful garden flowerbed. When an unusual flower, Devi also grows in the flowerbed, the other flowers become fearful because Devi looks different. Her spiked leaves were a sharp contrast to the soft petals of the other flowers and so Devi found it difficult to make new friends.
Listening to her wise mother, Puja realizes that there is nothing to fear and that differences do not matter with good friends. Details such as soft colors, animated facial expressions and an almost 3-dimensional appearance to each character pulls the reader's eyes towards each illustration. Children will enjoy the whimsical woodland creatures and the message of inclusion is subtle yet powerful. Even the youngest of children can learn about diversity and acceptance through this book. It paves way for conversations and is a soothing bedtime story too.
