This conference disseminated the latest information on developing and implementing asset management strategies. "Management of the Maintenance Process" presented: asset performance improvement - maintenance strategy review, application of RCM methodology to procurement of equipment for electricity distribution networks, Eastern Electricity's new approach to distribution switchgear management, and a common approach to plant condition monitoring. "Supplementary Papers" reviewed: the use of predictive maintenance to improve the maintenance management of power system assets, and reducing maintenance costs in gas insulated switchgear in Sweden by application of periodic acoustic diagnosis.
