ELF PRINCESS OF ROYANN

When an ex-warrior farmer is awakened in the middle of the night by a giant away-bird with a golden basket pinched in its beak, the quiet life Derrin struggled so hard to achieve is unsettled in an instant, driving him right back into warrior mode once again. When he and his wife Ilsa, and his young son Bren open the basket, inside is a newborn elf with the royal symbol of Castle Royann hanging around her tiny neck; two silver bars side by side in the shape of a downwards-pointing sword. The elf princess is given the name Kaylee, and as she matures into a fierce warrior, she knows she is clearly different, for her strength and agility far exceeds even that of her older brother Bren, who has also been training alongside her to better protect the village of Braven -- an unofficial lookout post long forgotten by the elves. Yet another reason why Kaylee must keep her true identity a secret. For years, Braven and Castle Royann have been locked in a fierce dispute over security wages owed, so the village has never held much love for the elves. The already complicated situation gets even more dire when Kaylee learns that she must seek out a council with the Four Witches of the Elements deep within the eastern Kingdom of Kipengel to better learn how to defeat the Omni Lord. No easy task to be sure, since the witches and the elves have been sworn enemies for thousands of years, not to mention the witches live within an enchanted forest that harbors many dangers, and they ride essence dragons that allow them to control the elements at will -- lightning and earth, fire and ice.
