Publisher's Synopsis
Shunted from foster home to another, Lina Townend always felt that something was missing. Now for the first time, she is happy, living with the kind-hearted antique dealer, Griff, who treats her as his own granddaughter. Whilst she still yearns for a family, she at last has some semblance of a normal life. At an antiques fair, Lina spots a frontispiece from a rare book, which triggers an early childhood memory. She vividly recalls being taken to a stately home, where a man she believes must have been her father gave her this book to keep her amused. Desperate to trace her real family, Lina buys the piece and begins a search for the father she never knew. As Lina attempts to trace both her father and the origins of the frontispiece, she and her beloved Griff find themselves victim to a series of violent burglaries and attacks. It soon becomes clear that Lina is involved in something a lot more dangerous than some family research...
