Russia wanted Trump in the White House because he was indebted to the Russians and bound to perform as would any other Russian Asset.Republican Leadership in Congress and rank and file Republicans aligned with Russia's objective of reelecting President Trump. This unholy alliance strained U. S. Intelligence Services to the breaking point. The Executive Branch was at war with its own Intelligences services and with the Legislative Branch whenever controlled by Democrats. Donald Trump denigrated U. S. Intelligence Services in 2016 in retailiation for findings that Russia supported Trump over Hillary Clinton for President.
