Publisher's Synopsis

A man invents a spurious double in order to pin a heinous crime on his non-existent twin, supposedly separated at birth, and continues the charade until even his own wife is fooled by it. Another commits a dreadful murder motivated by money but is caught out by his own cunning in trying to lay the blame at the door of an innocent. Others are blinded by love until they cannot see the truth of their own actions. In these five episodes, Roy Vickers employs invention and ingenuity, meticulous accuracy and intricate characterisation to reveal the lives of ordinary, everyday people who, though unremarkable and unpredictable, can find themselves caught up in circumstances which ultimately lead them to the most violent crime of all - murder.
