Publisher's Synopsis
A memoir of 1960 to 1965 in the hedonistic Bohemian colony of expatriates on the island of Ibiza. The story follows the author on a dangerous road journey to eastern Turkey to buy hasish. Cannabis and psychedlic drugs (LSD) are the new culture amongst the pioneering few. They are thought to be panaceas to the burgeoning materialism and late 20th century spiritual and intellectual malaise manifest in the threat of world destruction by the H-bomb. The story reads like a thriller: it details the author's journeys into petty crime, his loss and recovery of love and family, and the dangers of drug groups and drug illusions.
