Publisher's Synopsis
There is a strained relationship between the police and black communities in the United States of America. As a retired police officer and also a member of the black community, I offer a different approach to better understanding the culture of police work. Just like any other differences that are represented in this country, in order to develop mutual respect, there has to be understanding, which is only learned through education. Educating the civilian population is a must in order to dispel myths, half truths and provide the basics of police training all across this country. There also has to be a clear understanding of the laws in this country and the rights of civilians. Although there is more dialogue, understanding, teaching, and learning, that must be done outside the pages of this book, between these pages is the framework needed to pour the foundation.
