Publisher's Synopsis
We are genetically designed into an 'us and them' living entity at the most fundamental level, which implies a preprogrammed brutal tribal attitude on everything. This alone in fact has demanded of us as members of our tribe - regardless of type and constitution - that we naturally be discriminatory, racist, xenophobic, prejudiced, patriotic, chauvinistic, as long as the safety of the tribe remain sound. So, strangers are traditionally not admitted and generally considered most suspect on initial encounters. No wonder than our religions were structured that way initially in primeval time and have retained many of our tribal features in this regard. No wonder our history is characterized with suspicion along with a philosophical brashness, demanding confrontations as solutions to our problems - real and imaginary. Hence our urgent need for a sound ethical base - especially now that we are in possession of weapons of mass destruction.
