Alienum sane esset a nostri 0pusculi fine et consilio, si totam vi tam Pauli, insignis quondam hostis, tum autem insignis praedicatoris evangelii, hic enarraremus; quapr0pter ab eo demum tempore res ejue gestas describemus, quo secundo itinere Antiochia ad omnes populos religione christiana imbuendos profectus per Asiam minorem Macedo niam et Graeciam intravit. Nam ante hoc tempus epistolae pastorales scribi omnino non potuerunt et nemo fere ante illud tempus eas scriptas esse putavit.
