The aim of the second edition remains the same as that of the first edition. New data have been added which brings the litera ture up to April 1, 1918. The exigencies of the war have retarded investigation to such an extent that during the past year there have been very few workers who were able to do anything to ad vance the science of Pediatrics. These recent publications have not been included in the literature.
