Publisher's Synopsis

The aim of the research is to study the artistic peculiarity of the poetic text, artistic and linguistic means of the realization of the ideological and thematic content of the author's song in the structure of the specific works. The linguistic and cultural specificity of the author's song genre as a variety of poetic text belongs to the insufficiently studied objects of research in philology, but the growing popularity of this phenomenon places it in the sphere of interest of philologists and determines the relevance of scientific research in this direction. Linguistic research methods were used in this work. The combination of thematic, interpretative and comparative analyses provided new results and grounded conclusions which shed light on the genre specificity creation mechanism of the author's song. The English and Russian texts of the most famous and popular authors-songwriters are used as the material for the research. The results of the research are of theoretical significance and allow a broader understanding of the notion of "author's song" in its modern interpretation.
