Why do we need another book on disciple making? Because spiritual growth is lacking in the church. Because we are not raising up a new generation of disciple makers. Because people are leaving the church. Because the church has forgotten how to share the irresistible story of Christ with the world in a relational way. We've mistaken Sunday school classes and Bible studies as the best and only way to make and grow people to having an intimate faith in Jesus Christ. We need to rethink how we make and grow disciples as the body of Christ because less interaction with our community is happening. Something is terribly broken and we need tools that will help us BE the church, not just GO to church. This guide is the result of several years of study and practice on how to engage our community in a relevant way, ministering to the ever-challenging needs of our neighbor, and sharing in a relational way how God deeply cares for them and loves them. This Students Guide is meant to help us learn to make disciples the way Jesus and the early church did - person to person.
