Rev. J. B. Alford served the circuit during the years 1861, '62, and '63.

About the years 1864 Rev. W. M. Jordan succeeded to the charge.

In 1866 the circuit was changed, placing Durham, Chapel Hill, Orange Church and Massey's Chapel in the charge with Rev. R. S. Webb as pastor.

In 1867 the Durham circuit was formed consisting of six churches including Durham.

In 1869, only two Methodists were living in the village at that time, viz: R. F. Morris and Mrs. J. R. Green.
