About the Publisher
The History Press is the UK's largest local and specialist history publisher. We publish around 500 books a year on a wide range of subjects including military history, ancient, medieval and modern history, biography, transport, archaeology, heritage and sport. Our extensive range of local history books features locations across the whole of the UK in historical photographs, facts and figures, paranormal activity and crime. The roots of the present company go back over three decades: the first title appeared in 1978. Since then we have grown steadily and have now built up a variety of imprints - Spellmount, Pitkin, Phillimore, The Mystery Press - to reflect our diverse list.
