Excerpt from Digest of Comments on the Pharmacopoeia of the United States of America and on the National Formulary: For the Calendar Year Ending December 31, 1917
This compilation of references to the literature on subjects of interest with respect to the revision of the Pharmacopoeia of the United States of America and the National Formulary constitutes the thirteenth number in the series of Digest of Comments.
In this, as in the previous numbers, an effort has been made to present in a brief, concise form working references to all published articles relating directly or indirectly to the official drug standards mentioned above. With this object in view, all the available chem ical, medical, and pharmaceutical periodicals and reports have been carefully reviewed and abstracted. In those cases in Which the periodical containing the original article was not available, as was frequently the case with certain foreign publications which have not been regularly received in this country since the beginning of the war, the reader has been referred to the journal in which an abstract of the article appeared. This procedure was thought to be preferable to withholding the comment until some future date when the periodi cal containing the original article might become available.
