Publisher's Synopsis
This volume commemorates the person and work of Ernst Käsemann, who was professor for the New Testament at the University of Tübingen from 1959 to 1971. The focus is on an introduction to Käsemann's theology in the context of the times, a description of his relationship to the evangelical church as well as his work on the New Testament. Two texts by Ernst Käsemann from 1937 (sermon the day before his arrest by the Gestapo) and 1996 (personal review of his work), a greeting from his daughter and an obituary complete the volume.
