In seiner vorrede zu der ausgabe der "second or 15 th century Version der me. Romanze vom Guy of Warwick (london 1875, 76) versprach professor Zupitza. (p. IX) "that the last volume of the M. E. Guy Romances would be accompanied by general introduction. In den jahren veroffentlichte er die version des Auchinleck ms. Und des Gaius College ms. Ein fragment einer anderen version (sloane ms.) ist zu finden in seiner abhandluug: "zur litteraturgeschiehte des Guy von Warwick, Sitzungsberichte der phil. Histor. Classe der kais. Akademie der wissenschaften, Wien 1873, vol. LXXIV, pp. 623 bis 45. Hier sind auch abschnitte der anderen, noch nicht herausgegebenen, nur als fragmente erhaltenen me. Handschriften abgedruckt. Der vorzeitige tod des hervorragenden anglicisten hat die erfullung seines versprechens unmoglich gemacht, was um so mehr zu bedauern ist, als die ganze arbeit am besten von einer hand und besonders von seiner gethau worden ware.
