Physical methods are being used more and more frequently for the study of metals and their alloys. Thus, in order to meet contemporary needs, the scope of this compilation has been extended to include not only terms from classical metallurgy but also terms related to the physics of metals. This dictionary contains a listing of some 2300 English terms together with definitions and equivalents in German, French, Polish, and Russian. The concise English definition provided for each includes an explanation of the semantic range of the term. Synonyms are also given.
