Publisher's Synopsis

This open learning pack has been designed to assist information technology tutors who, although skilled in the use of computers and communication technologies, have received no teacher training. It concentrates on the teaching techniques and understanding of learning which are most appropriate in helping adults become competent users of information and communication technologies. The pack is divided into four modules which are in turn made up of a number of different sections to enhance the tutors' choice. The four modules are: Facilitating learning Preparing for the first IT session Teaching methods and Information Technology Introduction to learning methods Each module represents 30 hours of learning and has been designed to be undertaken while the tutors are supporting a group of adults taking part in an ICT learning programme. The material contains a range of practical activities and assessments. The pack provides a route to the achievement of a level II or III OCN qualification. It is a photocopiable resource and is presented in an attractive ring binder.
