Finding it is only the beginning of their challenges. Word of its existence has leaked to the underworld mafia strongman, Aldo Marino. Marino is obsessed with his desire for gold and will do anything to get his hands on it, including using his son as a pawn in his game of greed. Using the resources of his organization, crooked police, and his son, he pursues the treasure across the Southwest. The two treasure hunters are a Special Forces veteran, Tyler Weston and Jaci Santos, a young woman of half Navaho heritage. Jaci Santos' sixth sense, referred to as her Spirit Guide, comes into play as the couple faces danger at every turn. As the leaders of organized crime pursue the treasure, Marino's pacifist son, Mario, discovers he has been a pawn, used by his ruthless father. He must choose to obey his father or do what he knows is right. Each in their own way, the Special Forces veteran and the son of the mafia leader find themselves working together to confront evil. With surprising twists and turns, the reader faces the moral question is it ever right to take the law into your own hands?
