Publisher's Synopsis
This is both a practical manual and a textbook in the analysis and design of precast structures as they relate to strength and serviceability requirements. It is a comprehensive treatment of the design problems of precast concrete, in the use of real (including non-linear) characteristics of joints in tension, shear, bending and compression, and takes into account member interaction in the system through deformable joints and possible separation of members. The book gives a systematic approach to the solution of problems in precast concrete design, especially that of large-panel multi-storey buildings, and by probablistic approaches to estimation of the bearing capacity of compressed structures and of serviceability of members in bending.
