Publisher's Synopsis
This is believed to be the first design guide on recycled aggregate concrete-filled steel tubular structures. It provides relevant calculation methods and construction provisions. RACFST structures use recycled materials rather than virgin materials (partially or fully) as aggregate for concrete. They offer high strength, good ductility and durability, high fire resistance and favourable constructability along with the environmental benefits of the reuse of demolition waste. Typical applications would be in electrical grid infrastructure, wind turbine towers, bridge piers and other structures that require the characteristics of light self-weight, high bending stiffness and high bearing capacity.
