Excerpt from Der Optativ bei Polybius und Philo von Alexandria
Die folgende Untersuchung wurde im Herbst 1901 der philo sophischen Fakultat zu Tubingen, die damals den Druck der Disser tationen noch nicht verlangte, als Promotionsarbeit vorgelegt und angenommen. Aeussere Grunde veranlassten mich zunachst, von einer Veroffentlichung der Arbeit Abstand zu nehmen. Inzwischen ist die Dissertation in einer ahnlichen Abhandlung Rudolf Kapfi', Der Gebrauch des Optativus bei Diodorus Siculus und auch sonst bei wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen benutzt worden; ich habe mich deshalb entschlossen, die Arbeit noch nachtraglich in anver anderter Form drucken zu lassen, um so vor allem auch das ge sammelte Material allgemein zuganglich zu machen.
