I want to welcome to the Committee today Dr. John Gibbons, the President's Science Advisor and the Director of the Office of Sci ence and Technology Policy; Dr. Charles Vest, President of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who served as Chairman of the Advisory Committee on the Redesign of the Space Station; and also, Mr. Dan Goldin, the Administrator of nasa.
What I would like to do is to Open up with some remarks; and then, of course, we will hear from each of you. And I thought we would sort of make the batting order with Dr. Gibbons leading off, followed by Mr. Goldin and then you, Dr. Vest, if that is Okay with all of you.
Before I make my opening statement, Mr. Administrator would you like to introduce to the committee the other witnesses that you have with you today from nasa?
