Publisher's Synopsis
Eight-year-old Billie Crawford could not bring herself to commit suicide. The Bible said it was wrong. But when her father entered her bedroom, closed the door behind him, and began removing his pants, she drew the covers and whispered, "Jesus, please! Take me! Please, take me!" Her prayers went unanswered. For six long years she fought the rapes, rapes silently disregarded by a brutal mother and humiliated siblings. Maturity offered no end to her agony, for shame and trauma were permanently bonded to her heart and soul. Endless counseling and mind-altering drugs brought little relief. Even today, nightmares and severe mental depression are her every day/every night companions. A compassionate person, Billie felt she must share her experiences with others who have suffered similar atrocities, thereby hopefully affording them some small measure of consolation. To that end, here is her story.
