Publisher's Synopsis
THE ULTIMATE RELIGIOUS NARRATIVE
This book is an in-depth spiritual education. It contains everything we need to know about the ultimate religious narrative and the incredible joy it brings. This narrative is based on: (1) the directives of the human conscience: reasonableness, mercy and forgiveness; and (2) the idea that our conscience is the voice of Jesus [John 10:27] for Christians and the voice of the Creator for Muslims. Of course, this is the ultimate religious narrative; the human conscience is the narrative of God Himself! Therefore, in order to defeat religious evils everywhere, including in our own life, this book encourages each person to make a commitment to try to follow our hard-to-live-by, God-given conscience.
Consequently, this book does not draw a line between Christians and Muslims! Instead, agreeing with the Czech priest Tomás Halík, it draws a line between dwellers and seekers, those who have the courage to seek God's kingdom of reasonableness. It contains the facts that seekers need most, but these are the same facts that dwellers seem to hate most. For that reason, this book should give seekers tremendous joy but it may infuriate many who dwell in fortresses of unreasonable ideas.
Those who follow the voice of the Creator and those who follow the voice of Jesus are in complete unity no matter what religion they profess. Those who do not follow the voice of the Creator or their conscience are infidels, having no faith in God's supremely authoritative laws.
The radically fresh ideas in this book demand thinking. Thinking is not difficult nor is it expensive. It has many wonderful benefits for everyone who takes the time to do it. We must do more thinking if we are to defeat terrorism and religious evils. Thinking things over will help us to discover our cultural deformations, which may have helped to enable these evils. While it is easy to see the deformations of other cultures, it is difficult to see our own cultural deformations without thoroughly thinking things over. Those who do not think things over make the often fatal mistake of letting their environment program their mind.
This book continues by exposing all religious evils with well-reasoned ambushes of hypocrites and others who dwell in fortresses of unreasonable ideas.
In addition it concludes with dozens of heart-stirring revelations, including how and why the joy of the Lord is the pathfinder for what we ought to do.
