When their high school friend Rick disappears right after claiming to have information on the U.S. Senator he works for, Joe and Lisa team up to both find Rick and discover the true nature of the information. The Senator, who is harboring presidential ambitions, and his ruthless campaign manager don't take kindly to the investigation. Soon, Joe and Lisa realize they may be in danger of disappearing themselves.
The trail grows deadly as Joe and Lisa duck multiple attempts on their lives, all while trying to piece together disparate deadly events: the death of a small-time newspaper reporter, the death of a high-level staff member, the disappearance of their friend. How do these events tie together? Are they related to a long-dead assassin? Is there a cover up? To what lengths will those in power go to cover the truth?
