With mixed emotions, Miranda enters the castle as a maid. She had looked longingly at it from across the bluff ever since a young girl. The children teased her unmercifully, they all heard about the mad Duke that lives there. However, she did not let them upset her. This was her chance to leave the orphanage. As the years roll, by ghostly tales kept the mystery alive. One day the Duke decided it was time to end his isolation and decided to give a ball, the main reason to choose a wife and start his nursery. His title and all he holds dear was at stake. An avid reader Miranda asks to borrow some reading matter. While she was searching for a book in the library the Duke enters. Without knowing why he takes her in his arms and kisses her. When the Duke makes Miranda his ward, she becomes a target for his malicious cousin. To keep Miranda safe the Duke throws caution to the wind and asks her to marry him. Will the Prince give his approval for the Duke to marry out of his class? More importantly to the Duke, will Miranda accept his proposal by stepping on the dance floor for the third time?
