Publisher's Synopsis
Billy Bob Thornton's film (which sat on the shelves for several years and was in fact his directorial debut) is a semi-comic look at an eccentric American family from the Deep South; and has a host of big names such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Ben Affleck and Laura Dern in supporting roles. The family are brought together when Uncle Hazel is accused of murder and Claude (Thornton) and Ruby (Dern) head off to a family gathering to dicuss what to do. The result is a war of words and no-one can agree on what action to take.
