Publisher's Synopsis
This publication is designed to fulfil two functions. Firstly, to act as a guide to some of the important aspects of the history of the infamous concentration camp at Dachau, near Munich in Germany. Secondly, to highlight the significance of the main memorials that now stand on the grounds of the former concentration camp. These memorials provide silent testimony to the many thousands of victims who lost their lives there. These victims had the misfortune to cross paths with one of the cruellest, most vicious and murderous regimes that the world has ever seen. The ideology that under-pinned this brutal German regime was National Socialism (Nazism) and one of the key weapons in its armoury was the concentration camp.
