Publisher's Synopsis
This is an upgrade to DYMEX Version 1, which provides many extra features that makes possible models that could not be created with Version 1.DYMEX is a computer modelling package used to develop and run population models of biological organisms. These models are used to summarize our understanding of an organism's population dynamics, identify gaps in knowledge, and rapidly evaluate management options. The package has been designed for ease of use by biologists and consists of two major components: 1. The Builder which is used to construct a model by choosing modules such as the timer, lifecycle or event and assemble them into a model. 2. The Simulator which runs the model created in the Builder after the user has defined the conditions for the particular simulation. The Simulator presents the results in tables or graphs to explore such things as optimal timing of pesticide applications. The results can be saved in standard spreadsheet format for further analyses using other software.
