Publisher's Synopsis
This work explores the biochemical, molecular, physiological and pathophysiological roles of cyclic GMP (Guanylate Cyclases and Phospidiesterases). It focuses on the role of cyclic GMP in vascular biology where it regulates important functions relating to cardiovascular pathophysiology. Since its discovery there has been enormous interest in the biological role of cyclic GMP. Recent developments in nitric oxide and natriuretic peptide signalling place cyclic GMP in the forefront of signal transduction research.
