Cycle of War of Eleven Great States is the product of 50 years of work and research by Roger Lee Vernon on the history of wars around the world. It is meant to show how the great powers of the world all tend to have a war every generation.
Volume I covers the wars of the United States, Great Britain, France, Spain, Prussia/Germany, and Russia.
Volume II covers the wars of Venice/Italy, Japan, Ancient Rome, the Byzantine Empire, and the Ottoman Empire/Turkey.
Dr. Vernon also published a separate book, Why Do We Have Wars?, that discusses the major reasons why wars are fought.
