Publisher's Synopsis
How far would you go to change your future? This story follows the journey of two young, Hispanic immigrant men from Guatemala to America. It chronicles the struggles they face leaving their homes, travelling through Mexico, then working in a restaurant in Michigan. They dream of making more of themselves than what they could in their homeland. They also hope to provide financial assistance for their family back home. These desires grow with a pervasive ache within them. In the process, both learn more about who they are as they acclimate to daily life in the restaurant business. Ultimately, lines are drawn and choices must be made that affect their new life here in America, the land of their dreams. "Crossing the Line has an engaging storyline with richly developed characters. The author communicates how in the most important ways, foreign peoples and places are not so different from our own. In traveling with Roberto and Luis from Guatemala toward supposed prosperity, readers share their joys and pains as plans change along with those who make them. You will see through new eyes how responses to adversity make or break individuals as colorful characters uncover secrets, discover integrity's rewards, experience dishonesty's consequences, and count the cost of Christian discipleship." -Dr. Cole Thomas Westwood, lead pastor, Covenant Community Church, Redford, MI Wayne Stolt resides in Old Village, Plymouth, Michigan.
