The regular concessions number from north to south, and the lots 111 the concessions number from west to east. But the plan of the town ship is very irregular - much of it had been settled by leases from Joseph Brant, without much regard to regularity or consistency. In the survey of the rest of the township, particular respect had to be paid to these Brant lease tracts.
The town of Brantford is situate about the centre of the township, as also in about the centre of the county of Brant.
