These include marine fouling and the performance of other materials, notably copper-based alloys.;Grouped into three sections, the first covers new developments in stainless steels for resistance in seawater, providing analyses and sources of these materials.. Cast forms of stainless steels are discussed and consideration is given to the welding of stainless steels in relation to corrosion behaviour. Galvanic compatibility of high alloy stainless steels is also looked at.;The second part contains a detailed account of marine fouling and the need for, and application of, chlorination treatments.
