I take the liberty of inscribing to your Lordship this series of Letters, as well on account of your relationship to the emi nent and excellent person who sustains a part in the Correspondence, as for the purpose of acknowledging your liberality in enabling Mr. Wakefield's representa tives to lay the Letters before the Public. Although it is manifest, from the easy, unlaboured style of Mr. Fox, in this Cor respondence, that he wrote without preme ditation, merely as the occasion prompted, I cannot suppose that any of the friends to his memory will, for that reason, object to.
