A. The mammae are situated on the anterior and lateral parts of the thorax, adhering by cellular sub stance to the pectoralis major on each side. Their structure is whitish and glandular, being of the con glomerate kind; a great number of smaller glandular masses, separated by adipose substance, compose the mamma; and each of them has its lactiferous ducts, which unite with others, and form larger tubes that open in the papilla.
