Publisher's Synopsis
Have you ever filled a prescription before? Antibiotic, pain killer before a surgery, maybe? Unless you've ever worked in a pharmacy, you really have no idea what goes on, behind the counter. An estimated 4.25 billion prescriptions are filled via retail pharmacies annually and my main character Sandra Jarvis is a retail pharmacist at a local franchise. Due to the lack of recognition from her mother early on, Sandra transformed herself into the epitome of Successful Black Women of America. She graduated high school, worked her behind off in college, got married, and had a baby; in that order. One day during her shift, a male acquaintance brings Sandra irrefutable proof of an active affair involving the one person she trusts most, her husband Rick. After finding out her husband is cheating on her with a white woman, Sandra slides deep into a rabbit hole of depression, and alienation. At her darkest hour, she is prescribed a controlled stimulant called Adderall, which embarks her on a personal journey to self re-imagination. She finds that her personal views on pharmaceutical therapy and her beliefs on race and religion change, drastically.
