Publisher's Synopsis

This book aims to provide insights into the functioning of continuous mining systems, which defines the basic parameters of reliability and determines their analysis of a mining system's capacity. It reviews the principles of reliability theory and discusses serial mining systems, parallel mining systems and combined mining systems. Markov chains and processes, as well as graphs of the states of Markov random processes are explained. The author looks at mining system reliability characteristics and shows a method for detecting inoperative elements of a continuous mining system.;The book shows how the production processes in mining can be represented as a set of production factors, and how production processes can be considered as a function of human labour. Statistical analysis is used in order to determine that functions in the form of a multi-factorial independence of variables. The result is a correlative model with clear forms of relations between the variables, resulting in identification with production processes. The book may be applied for both existing mining systems as well as those systems at the design stage.
