Novelists, dramatists, poets, and short story writers who are living, or who have died since 1959 are "Contemporary Literary Criticism's" primary focus. Scriptwriters and other creative writers are also evaluated from a literary perspective.;Each volume contains approximately 500 individual critical excerpts (about 20 per author), taken from books, magazines, literary reviews, newspapers, and scholarly journals.;Individual volumes contain an index to titles mentioned in that volume. A softbound cumulative title index is published annually.
