Publisher's Synopsis

The work "Constructing mission praxis for sustainable socio-economic development amongst the rural poor" was born out of the researcher's passion for the less privileged, where rural poverty appears to be endemic, and this has attracted much attention because the condition is getting worse daily. One of the severe effects of rural poverty is food and nutrition insecurity and its attendant socio-economic and political costs. Nigeria has over 200 million people, and about 70% live below the poverty line. This research concluded that in poverty eradication, individual development plays a vital role because development is a more permanent approach, which is an ongoing process in which both the helper and the one being helped are engaged in a transforming relationship in which both parties glorify God. A kind of revolution that would better many people experiencing poverty; this is not a revolution with guns and cutlasses but a revolution of the mind, through which the people experiencing poverty will be able to see things with every sense of clarity from their mind because the most terrible type of poverty is that of the mind.
