This collection of essays marks the 25th anniversary of "Operation Oryx" begun in 1962, which has virtually saved the Arabian oryx ("Oryx leucoryx") from extinction.;The book describes the setting up of "Operation Oryx", its early days and the gradual reintroduction of the oryx into the wild. Also discussed are the captive breeding and management problems plus the veterinary care of the "Hippotraginae".
